[When] the ghost of loss gets into you, may a flock of colors, indigo, red, green and azure blue, come to awaken in you a meadow of delight. ~ John O’Donohue
What losses are heightened at this time of year? What spaces of wonder open up?

… watching for the brushstrokes of God

What losses are heightened at this time of year? What spaces of wonder open up?

Advent…coming…totally unexpected and disruptive…beyond our imagination…arriving with the words “Fear not”.
Are we truly ready to lean in?

We read and hear and sing and ponder the words of the Prophet Isaiah “prepare the way of the Lord, make straight a highway….and the glory of the Lord will be revealed”.
How do we prepare?

“To believe… is to let that something sink down into the marrow of your bones and form the structure of your life, … to let it’s affirmation become the inhalation and exhalation of your life’s breath.” ~ Wendy M. Wright
How does the Advent promise transform you?

I have been wondering about an advent sky. Would it be the first sliver of light that comes to those sitting in darkness? Or would it be the guiding star? Or is it more like a stormy cloud on the horizon for what else does “fear not” mean when the good news always upsets the ordered lives of those receiving it.
What are you looking for in the advent sky?

Be longing. The space between these two words caught me standing at the threshold of Advent…be…longing…
How do the two words invite you in?
