Shadows lengthening
Dreams, longings, limitations
Slowing toward rest
What prayer rises from your afternoon?

… watching for the brushstrokes of God

Shadows lengthening
Dreams, longings, limitations
Slowing toward rest
What prayer rises from your afternoon?

Today is the third anniversary of the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville that led to the deaths of Heather Heyer, and state police Jay Cullen and Berke Bates. It exposed racism as something that had always been here. How has our community changed as we revisit the trauma of that weekend?
How do you remember and mark this day? What have you learned about white supremacy in this country? Are you praying with your feet?

God is present with us each and every moment. Yet how often do we notice? How often do we pay attention to our surroundings and see God? How do we mark the moments and spaces when we do notice God?

Blue skies and white clouds
Beneath endless horizon
I watch dolphins play
Where do you notice the playfulness of God? How do you join God’s playfulness? What are your ways of being playful?
