“ I have learned that what I have not drawn, I have never really seen, and that when I start drawing an ordinary thing, I realize how extraordinary it is, sheer miracle.” ~ Frederick Frank
How do you notice the extraordinary in the ordinary?

… watching for the brushstrokes of God

“ I have learned that what I have not drawn, I have never really seen, and that when I start drawing an ordinary thing, I realize how extraordinary it is, sheer miracle.” ~ Frederick Frank
How do you notice the extraordinary in the ordinary?

“Something inside me
constantly bleeds towards god.
That’s why I keep writing,
slipping messages under the door.” ~ Dorothy Walters
Could it be the other way as well? God slipping messages under our door?

“A poet is an unhappy creature whose heart is tortured by deepest suffering but whose lips are so formed that when his sighs and cries stream out over them, their sound becomes like the sound of beautiful music…” ~ Søren Kierkegaard
How do you tap into the poetic?

“May you have a mind that loves frontiers
So that you can evoke the bright fields
That lie beyond the view of the regular eye…” ~ John O’Donohue

One hears of light chasing darkness…the sky was still soft lavender blue. Then came from the zenith a flush of violet, sweeping the blue down to the snow of the skyline – and that was chased by mauve, and the mauve by dim rose colour, and the rose by apricot. Then the peak flamed up in brilliant rose and madder — and the day has come. ~ Lillias Trotter
How do colors bring your day into being?

I will not die an unlived live. I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire. I chose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible; to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise. I choose to risk my significance, to live so that which came to me as seed goes to the next as blossom, goes on as fruit. ~ Dawna Markova
