Green edges

“The hard thing when you get old is to keep your horizons open. The first part of your life everything is in front of you, all your potential and promise. But over the years, you make decisions; you carve yourself into a given shape. Then the challenge is to keep discovering the green growing edge.” ~ Howard Thurman

Where is your green edge?

Singing of angels

“There must be always remaining in every life, some place for the singing of angels, some place for that which in itself is breathless and beautiful.” ~ Howard Thurman

Where is that place in your life?

Wind blowing

When the wind blows, we imagine she is erasing every

injustice,

sweeping misdoings from the east to the west,

making room for something new, a more whole world.

Instead, what we don’t realize is that she is rustling the

tree branches

to sing us a song.

Instead, she is sowing seeds across the landscapes,

seeds that tomorrow will become the beauty that

restores us.

Instead, she’s whispering for us to hold on,

to keep going, to water those seeds,

because one day, they will show us

the way home. ~ Kaitlin B Curtice, Native

How does your imagination hold wind and seed?

Transforming Questions

Asking the proper question is the central action of transformation…Questions are the keys that cause the secret doors of the psyche to swing open. ~ Clarissa Pinkola Estes

What questions have transformed you?

Earth speaks

The earth is always speaking, but over time, we lose the ability to listen. If we are lucky, we return again. If we make room inside of ourselves for childlikeness, we will make room for the ability to learn again, to be small, humble people who ask questions instead of making demands, to listen to the land instead of carving it into pieces for profit. ~ Kaitlin B. Curtice, Native

How do you listen for the sacredness of the earth?
