Sometimes it takes new surroundings to notice the emergence of new life whether in nature, relationships, or other situations. Sometimes it takes simply slowing down, paying attention or moving towards gratitude.

Where do you notice new life emerging?

On Thursday…

On Thursday they gathered one last time at the table, sharing the bread and the cup with stories of travels and encounters, of boats and garden, of oil and shekels…stories of freedom. Then, a whirlwind of activity and Jesus fell silent …remember me…

How do you remember the journey? Your journey?

Around the bend

Rituals arise from the land, surfacing through the bedrock and the soil, and enter the imagination of the people that live there… as a means of attuning ourselves with one another, to the land and the invisible world of spirit. ~ Francis Weller, The Wild Edge of Sorrow

How do you enter healing grounds?

Slowing

The beauty of art is that it allows you to slow down, and for a moment, things that once seemed unfamiliar become precious to you. ~ Kehinde Wiley

What do you notice when you slow down?

Free fall

“On the front end, it hurts. Leaving my to-do lists alone. Trusting the universe will continue its forward motion without my intervention. Demonstrating that it is God who sustains me and not my own efforts. Sabbath is like the scary free fall of faith, in microcosm. And it is good for our hearts to practice. It gets easier.” ~ Marcia Lebhar

What might you leave alone?

Hibernation

The weather is getting warmer, spring is in the air beckoning animals to emerge from hibernation. Resources stored in their bodies have been used up over the cold winter months. Spending months asleep they wake rested and hungry.

How will you emerge from covid hibernation? What are you hungry for? How rested are you?
